Valentina: We are working on a tour for 2010 and are looking for a guide in Romania with excellent English and excellent knowledge of the Jewish Heritage in Romania. The group is US Jewish tourists, they first visit Bulgaria and after that travel; in Romania.
Here is the Romania portion of the program.
Can you please give me your quote for that service?
Day 1 : Travel from Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria to Brashov, Romania
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart Veliko Tarnovo and drive north towards Romania. En route, pass the town of Russe, a major port on the Danube River, with elegant architecture in Neoclassic and Secession styles. The Noble Prize winner for literature in 1981, Elias Canetti, was born in Russe, to a Sephardic Jewish family.
Arrival in Brasov. Hotel.
Day 2 : Travel Brasov - Bucharest
Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, visit the medieval town of Brasov (formerly known as Kronstadt). The tour will include a visit to the Synagogue, locally called "The Jewish Temple." Brasov, situated on one of the major trade routes between Central Europe and the Balkans, still manifests its historic roots in the rich and well-preserved medieval Old Town. Continue to a completely different atmosphere, as you visit "Count Dracula's Castle" in Bran, dating back to the 14th century. You will learn about the legendary character of Vlad the Impaler, notoriously fictionalized by Bram Stoker in 1897, and the core of a rich trove of books, movies and television shows about "vampires." Lunch – either in Brasov or in Sinaia (there are some good restaurants in Sinaia), a town which clings to the hillsides and is beautifully scented with evergreens. Peles Castle, home of the Summer Palace of the Royal Family, is beautifully landscaped into its surroundings and is one of Romania's best-loved attractions. …..Continue to Bucharest. Hotel
Day 3 Bucharest
Breakfast at the hotel. Bucharest's fascinating history reflects an assortment of influences, from Byzantine Christian (which ruled Eastern Europe for 1100 years) to Turkish Ottoman. It flourished due to its location on the most viable trade route linking Western Europe with the Near East. Following breakfast, visit the Struma Memorial (dedicated to a failed escape to Israel) in the Jewish Cemetery. Continue to the Choral Temple Synagogue, and meet leaders of the Jewish Community. Later, visit the nearby Jewish Museum, today located in the former Tailor’s Synagogue. Lunch at the Jewish Community Center. In the afternoon, enjoy a panoramic tour of the city, including the Parliament Palace, Arch of Triumph, the Romanian Atheneum, and the Royal Palace. Farewell Dinner in a lively restaurant (entertainment) but with good food!! Hotel
DAY 4 Bucharest – HOME FLIGHTS

Meals Included: Breakfast
pedro: my wife and myself have been once in Romania, and had a great excursion with private guide and car, for one week, visiting Sibiu, Brasov, Bran, and Sighisoara. Of course, Bucharest another four days.
We are planning on going on July, from 5 to 20, and then take a cruise on Dnieper from Odessa.
We would like to know if you are available, with your services and car.
We would like to be picked up at Bcharest airport on day 5 and move directly north without visiting Bucharest and the other places we know.
Visit other sites, like the ones you have programed in your page as UNESCO sites, maramures, wooden and painted churches, and other important places or architectural sites like palaces, castles or villages, to finish on day 20 in Odessa.
Please send me a project including your services, breakfast and dinner, in small inexpensive hotels, 2 or 3 stars.
We have limited money but love traveling. Please make us a project as inexpensive as possible.
My wife and I are both 61 years old, but in good shape, so we can travel as you wish.
Thank you very much.
Jill: Buna Zuia: I am a lady traveler coming to Romania from the 11th of September departing the 18th of September. I have some Romanian friends and am planning on a visit. I am looking for a private guide to drive/go with me on the train, etc. to Timisoara to visit a friend, go around Bucharest, visit Targoviste, and generally get the feel of the country. I am also interested in spending some time in the Moroeni area to look for property. I am open to go to other areas such as Brasov and Bran, but don't think there is time for Moldovia or Constanta. I am also looking to improve my language skills. I am looking to stay in b&b/private homes - I am not interested in 5 star treatment, I am interested in real life there. Are you available during this period of time? If not, can you please recommend someone? Your advise is greatly appreciated. Mult Multumesc. I look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards, Jill
Jeff: I will be in Bucharest from early afternoon, between 2-4pm, October 24th till mid morning October 26th.
I am looking for an English speaking guide for maybe a day and a half to just give me the highlights of Bucharest, architecture, history, culture as well as transfer from airport and back. I already have my hotel there, Ramada Majestic. On Sunday, October 26th, I will need assistance in buying a round trip ticket to Galati, returning to the airport at Bucharest from Galati on October 29th for an international flight that leaves at 3:15 PM
I am not interested in anything fancy, even taking the metro with you, so I can immerse myself in the daily life of Bucharest.
I am a single male, 65 years old and quite fit.
How much would you charge if possible, for these services?
I look forward in speaking with you re all this.
Thank you for your timely response.
