Vienna is a wonderful place to discover! It is the capital of Austria, and thus its most important city in different regards. Most people consider Vienna to be the cultural, political and economic heart of the whole country. Besides its official and well-known name, Vienna is also known by several nick-names such as the “city of music” due to its impressive musical legacy.

The other nick-name is the “city of dreams”, as far as it was Vienna where world’s most famous and at that time the first psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud was born. There are lots of attractions in Vienna, and it will take you a lot of time to explore each one of them. That’s why I suggest you to focus on the most intriguing places of interest in Vienna. We will start from exploring of the Vienna State Opera, which was built in the middle of the 19th century. It is situated in the center of Vienna, and usually attracts lots of tourists and music connoisseurs.  Our next stop will be the famous Hofburg castle (Hofburg Palace). It is definitely worth seeing! Throughout history it housed some of the most powerful men and women in Europe. Among them are the representatives of the legendary Habsburg dynasty, and some of the rulers of the former Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Nowadays the palace is also very important and serves as an official residence of the president. After a thorough exploration of the palace we will proceed to the beautiful church of the Augustinian church. It is situated next to the winter palace of the mighty Habsburg dynasty – Hofburg – so it won’t take us much time to reach it. Our next stop will be at the monument to emperor Josef II. During the tour we will also visit the following sites: the Spanish horse riding school, a medieval fortress, the Heldenplatz, the seat of the Austrian president and others.
