Dubrovnik & South Dalmatia tour

Culture and History tour in Dubrovnik, Ston, Split

Tour Price : €450-650 Duration : 1 day Languages: English - Italian - Croatian

A journey to the fascinating medieval town of Croatia...

Taste the beauty of the South Dalmatian region through the view over Cetina river canyon, Omiš town, the Walls of Ston and finally Dubrovnik...

Starting from Split (or surroundings) we'll have a chance to view some spectacular views over the South Dalmatian beauties like the Cetina river canyon and the town of Omiš.

Later on, I'll make you discover "The Walls of Ston" on the peninsula of Pelješac – known as the "European Wall of China"... Ston was a major fort of the Republic of Dubrovnik, whose defensive walls were regarded as a notable feat of medieval architecture. Ston is notable for its oysters and would be a great stop for us to have a snack, followed by the taste of top Croatian wines from the peninsula...

Our final destination is the most famous Croatian UNESCO site: Dubrovnik city. Before we reach downtown, I'll take you to enjoy an eagle's eye view of Dubrovnik Old Town and its environs from a mountain belvedere. From here we can enjoy one of the best views on the Adriatic sea. The "Pearl of the Adriatic" became an important Mediterranean sea power from the 13th century onwards. Although severely damaged by an earthquake in 1667, Dubrovnik managed to preserve its beautiful Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque churches, monasteries, palaces, and fountains.

The Old Town and its many sights (including the well-preserved city walls along which you can walk) is one of the top attractions here. The Old Town is also famous for Stradun (also known as Placa), the main thoroughfare – one of the greatest pleasures for many visitors is to have a drink in one of the nearby cafes and watch the world go by, whilst they themselves are being watched by the city patron, Saint Blaise  as the locals call him.
