My name is Cathy, I am an official, licensed tour guide in Hungary. I feel enthusiasm and love for my exciting carrier that I have been doing for 16 years.
I was born and raised in the capital, Budapest, and I have been exploring its nooks and crannies since childhood. I would like to share my discoveries with you and show you the Hungary that has emerged from behind the Iron Curtain!
Visitors are usually astonished by the splendid beauty of bustling Budapest, and the contrasting peacefulness of the countryside.
While showing you ”the best of” the country, I will tailor your tour to your particular interests. I'll show you the life of average Hungarians. I'll show you how we live, where we relax, eat and shop, things you won't see on a package tour…
All my Budapest tours can be done by car, or by bicycle, and also, using public transport and walking.
If we go to the countryside, my car, an Opel Astra, takes 4 people. If you are a cheerful group of friends, family, or colleagues, I can arrange a minibus or a coach!
For travel agencies: I also organize tours for big groups with several buses and tour guides.
I used to be a professional musician (classical music) and played the cello in many orchestras. With my string quartet we performed, toured, and did recordings in North America and Europe. Having spent 7 years in Canada, I settled again in Budapest.

Since 1993 I have been working actively as a tour guide leading tours in four languages: Hungarian, English, French, and German. I am interested and specialized in arts: music, painting, architecture. I also teach languages and tourguiding.
I am married and the mother of two sons, so, family life inevitably taught me how to put together a fun program for your 6-year-old kid…
