I'm a full-time private guide in Reykjavik, Iceland, mainly working with small private groups but sometimes bigger groups. I speak English, Swedish, Danish and Finnish. I have a great van for my guests. It's a converted Ford Econoline E350, 4x4, with five independent seats and space for four on the back bench, 35" tires and a free wifi in the van. I have a luggage trailer that takes up to 16 suitcases. A small fridge can be organized into the van but needs to be booked in advance.

I am also a journalist. I used to work for radio, newspapers and magazines in Iceland starting during the mid 1980s. I have done almost everything there is to be done in journalism in Iceland. Nowadays I'm mainly writing in Swedish and Icelandic but sometimes also in English and I've published my first book, Traditional Icelandic Food - A Gastronomic Guide to Iceland telling stories about the traditional Icelandic food.

I'm Icelandic by birth, grew up in Reykjavik's oldest suburb Breidholt, spent my childhood in Iceland but as a young woman I decided to move to Finland to study journalism. I was living in Finland for seven years and that's why I speak both Swedish and Finnish.

I met my husband in Finland and gave birth to my firstborn child. We moved back to Iceland in 1991 and my son was born later that year.

As a journalist I've done all kinds of reporting but mainly sitting by the desk making phone calls and writing news, analyses and interviews. I love writing but it's not very active so I simply love meeting new people through the guidance. It makes me happy and opens a window to the world out there!

I take care of groups from 1-9 or more if needed. Please contact me for more information!
