On this trip you will explore an interesting combination of Rivers, Forests and Mountains through very different Landscapes, Cultures, Climates and Biotopes. The itinerary provides a great chance to enjoy the Natural Highlights of the red island by Canoe, by Car and by Foot.

This River has cut a gorge through the Limestone and this is where all the Caves and Water channel in the Tsingy drain out. Visit some Caves used by the Vazimba, the first settlers of the Island. In rainy season, the water levels rise drastically, making access to the Tsingy nearly impossible.

DETAILS OF ITINERARIES

DAY 01 : Antananarivo

Meeting at the Airport of Ivato and Transfert to your Hotel. Walking around Antananarivo, « la gare ferroviaire, la place du marché et le Palais de la Reine ».

Overnight at your Hotel in Bed and Breakfast basis.

DAY 02: Antananarivo Tsiroanomandidy and  le lac Ampefy.

Early drive to the West of Antananarivo to Ampefy, admiring the Volcanic landscape of Itasy known by its Aquatic Birds. Lunch in the Lake border. The afternoon, we continue to the road of Zebu of this middle West to Tsiroanimandidy.

Overnight at the Hotel le Manambolo or Similar.

Beautiful mountains and dry forest, visit “Tavolomana” in the small village of Horombato. We often see lemurs along the road and stop for a picnic lunch before arriving in the village of Beravina. Camping or basic accommodations.

DAY 03 : Tsiroanomandidy-Belobaka.

By 4x4, we take the road woth its Hills landscape before reaching the village of Belobaka, a desertic area and the Massif of Bongolava. Overnight in Tent and Bivouac.

DAY 04 : Bongolava Trekking.

With Porters, trekking to the Massif of Bongolava formed by Hills and Mountains with Canyon Forest. Along the Road , meet the Locals with their everyday Life. After 06 hour walking, the Beatiful view of the Menabe and the Manambolo River.

Overnight in Tent and Bivouac.

DAY 5:Beravina to Ankavandra, End of Trekking

Rocky tracks, a Nice Waterflow, small Creeks and Natural Bassin. We continue on tough 4X4 to Ankavandra. Along the way we pass through the beautiful landscape of the western region; mountains; dry forest, lunch at the village of Ankondromena (“red bananas”). From the top we admire the Village of Ankavandra where ends our Trekking. Arriving in Ankavandra where we camp for the night.

DAY  6 : Manambolo River descent  by Cannoe.

Ankavandra is the Canoe starting point. Discover as explore this Mystical Wildlife of the Manambolo Canyon River. Just after the Ritual “Fomba” to ask for Better Crops and Blessings from the Ancestors. On the river we‟ll use local pirogues (outfitted with padded seats and umbrellas) paddling each day from camp to camp

At the end of the Day, Overnight Bivouac

DAY 07 : Manambolo River

No previous experience is needed as there are no rapids and the river remains calm throughout the journey. You are welcome to assist with the paddling or enjoy the view and leave the paddling to your Malagasy river guides.

DAY 08 : Oliha Camp

The landscape changes abruptly as we go deeper into unspoiled parts of Madagascar passing into the spectacular “Gorges of Manambolo River”. Spending of the day in a in Oliha Camp; A new Circuit where a small river with clear blue-green water meets the brown water of the Manambolo, creating a striking contrast. This is really a fascinating place and we enjoy bathing and exploration the tropical deciduous forest harboring a great variety of wildlife. The vertical rock cliffs on both sides of the river create an astonishing silent and wonderful evening campsite.

DAY 09 : Bekopaka

Early in the Morning, starting with Bird Tweets, flowing down in an Aura of Silence to Live our last cruise on Manambolo River untill the Village of Bekopaka.

DAY 10: Tsingy of Bemaraha National Parks. By 4X4

Exploring this area of amazing limestone karst landscape; the Petit Tsingy and the Grand Tsingy utterly indescribable landscape, plus unique wildlife surprises such as the all white delightful Decken´s Sifaka, Red-fronted Brown Lemur, Birds families like the  Fish-Eagle on the Manambolo River. As a limestone area, there are some amazing caves to explore, and the Tsingy itself has been made accessible via hanging bridges, sturdy ladders and ingenious footholds - fantastic explorations! One

DAY 11 : Bekopaka, Kirindy, Baobabs Morondava.

After your Breakfast, Drive Back to Belo Tsiribihina, with 02 river cross, we pass to Kirindy forest for a Day Visit to take Chance to meet the Fosa, a Unique Ferox Predators of the Western Madagascar, after Lunch, exploring the Baobabs forest, Sacred and the Avenue of Baobabs for Sunset.
