During this one day trip from Bucharest you will have the chance to discover two of the most famous castles of Romania : Peles & Bran . After we will leave Bucharest, we pass through a chain of villages on the way to Ploiesti . As we reach the Prahova Valley the landscape is different , we will pass through one of the most picturesque places of this region, with mountain resorts spreading across it : Sinaia , Busteni , Azuga , Predeal , Paraul Rece . Wide and deeply carved by the homonymous river, the Prahova Valley is an unforgettable display of the splendors which nature most generously holds out. This valley is a narrow corridor between Transylvania and Wallachia ( South Romania ) , crossed by both rail and motorway , making it one of the most visited routes in Romania.                                                                                                                                                                   Our first stop : Sinaia ( beautiful romanian mountain resort ) start developing with the construction of the famous Sinaia Monastery in 1695 and it turned into an important settlement. The fast pace of Sinaia`s growth is connected to the development of the extractive and oil processing industries in the PLOIESTI / PRAHOVA county area, and to the construction of the road connecting it to Bucharest at the end of the 19th century , followed by the construction of the railway (1879) and of the Peles Castle from 1873  , and official inaugurated in 1883 . Sinaia was declared town in 1880. The Peles Castle Complex, is one of the best-preserved royal palaces in Europe. On the inside as well as on the outside, the Castle is full of ornaments and features elaborate wood sculptures and paintings representing scenes from the works of the German composer Richard Wagner.                                                                                                                                                                                              We will continue our tour and drive to Bran, going through a beautiful mountain landscape, and we reach the legendary Bran - Dracula`s Castle.The first historical reference of the Bran Castle is a document issued on November 19th, 1377 by Ludwig I d’Anjou, by which Brasov’s inhabitants received the privilege of building a fortress “at their own work and expense”. The Bran Castle was restored under the supervision of architect Karel Liman between 1920-1922 . He was the architect of the Royal Court, who turned it in a beautiful summer residence surrounded by a park with promenade alleys, a lake, fountains, arbors, and a tea house.

We will also make a short stop in Poiana Brasov , one of best romanian mountain resort . Our last stop is Brasov , for a short old city center tour before returning to Bucharest . During the medieval time - starting second half of the 14th century - Kronstadt , ( the german name of Brasov ) was confirmed as the administrative and ecclesiastic center of the region of Tara Barsei, “the free Royal town”, one of the economic and cultural centers of Transylvania , one of the seven medieval german  towns of Transylvania .

INFO ! The capital of Brasov County, the city of Brasov is situated in the central part of the Romania , about 165 km North of Bucharest. Surrounded by the Southern peaks of the Carpathian mountains it is part of the Transylvania region. Because of its central location, Brasov is a good starting point for trips all around Romania. Brasov is also the biggest romanian city in a mountain resorts area. We return to Bucharest in the evening.

IMPORTANT :                                                                                                                                                                                  The tour normaly ends in Bucharest around 19.30 - 20.00h depending traffic . 

Peles Castle is closed monday in summer time . In winter time is closed monday , thuesday  and entire month of november .                                                                                                                                                                 

Traffic to the mountain area and return might be busier than usual especially during the official holidays and weekends , so the return could be expected later than scheduled ( + 1 – 2 h) .
