There are so many interesting places in Cairo that it’s sometimes hard to decide where to start. Of course, most of the private tours in Egypt will take you to the pyramids. But if you’ve already been there and admired their immense scale and engineering genius, then this tour will be a great choice for you to consider.

You’ll be taken directly from your hotel to the first stop of our tour, which is the famous Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, located on the Tahrir Square. This immense collection of artifacts accounts over 120,000 separate items and has moved several times over its 150+ year history because it grew so fast that the previous buildings were unable to house it any longer. There are many items on display, and you will see anything from small statues and everyday appliances to huge sarcophaguses and golden masks found in royal tombs. We’ll visit only the most prominent highlights of the exhibition because it would otherwise take us several days to admire each exhibit.

Next stop is the remarkable Citadel of Saladin, which serves as the pivot point for the Islamic part of the capital. This classic Arab complex was built over 800 years ago and now features several peculiar mosques such as the Alabaster Mosque. We’ll explore the Citadel and enter some of the most interesting locations around it before continuing to the final part of our tour.

Get ready for some shopping time in one of the most picturesque Oriental bazaars in the world. With a large number of sellers and a huge variety of local goods and souvenirs, the Khan el-Khalili is certainly a place anyone should visit before leaving home. And it’s not just about the gifts, as this place is beautiful on its own and you will certainly enjoy walking along the crowded trade lines of this ancient bazaar.
