Information about Krakow
Krakow’s Old Town was the very first site approved for the UNESCO World Heritage List. Settled near the Tatra Mountains along both banks of Poland’s Vistula River in the 7th century, this ancient city remains both the second largest and second most important town in the country. In addition to its importance in Jewish Heritage, the city of Krakow is also Poland’s central locale for the arts, culture and academics.
Approximately 8 million tourists visit Krakow each year, coming to see the historical monuments, to make a religious pilgrimage or to enjoy its various recreational activities. Visitors take advantage of warm summers to enjoy a river cruise with a lovely view of Wawel Castle or a walking tour of the Royal Way.
Midsummer sees the Jewish Cultural Festival, one of the biggest festivals of its kind in the world. Important attractions include nearby Auschwitz, the Wieliczka Salt Mine, and Schindler’s Factory.

Latest Tourist Opinion about Travel to Poland:

I cannot imagine a better guide than Christopher. He gives a weath of information without being pedantic, is well spoken in English and ... is a nice person. We arranged in advance for him to drive us from Krakow to Eastern Slovakia and he suggested three places on the way over the Tartras mountains (great choices and not a scary drive, no cliffs), and we prepaid half on Paypal. He is highly highly recommended!
