Information about Moshi
Located in the mountain region of Tanzania is Moshi. The capital of the Kilimanjaro region, it is one of Tanzania’s major coffee-growing regions. Most visitors come to Moshi to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. Many hotels and trekking agencies have scenic walks along the footpaths that link villages along Kilimanjaro’s lower slopes.
A fun place to stay is Honey Badger Lodge and Safaris. It’s a business ran by a family and in addition to a hotel, campsite and lodge they are also a safari company and can arrange all of your tours. They also have a swimming pool, children’s play area and a bar. Many hotels in Moshi offer discounted rates for people who are volunteering in the area.
Visit Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Lake Manyara National Park or Arusha National Park and see the sights. If you go to Moshi to climb Mount Kilimanjaro make sure you look at referrals before booking and never deal with a random person on the street. A must-do is drinking a local beer. Kilimanjaro, Safari and Tusker are local favorites. Check out the Glacier outdoor pub for music, drinks and a nightly fire.
