Sometimes called “The Floating City,” Venice is an incredible city in northeastern Italy comprised of 118 tiny islands connected by bridges and traversed primarily by water taxi. It is a beautiful setting with spectacular architecture -the entire city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Visitors enjoy a warm, humid climate most of the year, which is perfect for enjoying the festivals and touring the Grand Canal and other waterways. Venice holds a famous film festival and is also known for its fantastic Carnival season. Venice is also famous for its art and printing, with renowned masters such as Canaletto and Titian, and can take credit for printing what is considered the most beautiful book of the entire Renaissance, Hypnerotomachia Poliphilli.

Important landmarks include St. Mark’s Basilica, San Rocco, the Campanile di San Marco, and the Madonna dell’Orto. Many of these beautiful sights can be enjoyed during a romantic gondola cruise along the Grand Canal.
